The star intervals in which a grain size exceeds 10 mm. Filter bands are tensioned longitudinally and has long holes (aperture smaller than 7 mm), which are enlarged to 2 mm by stretching. The sludge is broken on a grain size of 150 mm by a conveyor screw/pulsating lattice before entering into the filters. Conditioner of lime (1.5 wt%)/fly ash is added to the sludge (4 mm grain size and 1 wt%) for adjusting the humidity content of the sludge, which is stored (2 days) in raw minerals.
