PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator where the amount that a retractable storage door is pulled out is increased without decreasing the thickness of a heat insulating space layer, so that an opening in the top face of a storage container when the door is open can be made larger. SOLUTION: The refrigerator comprises a retractable door 11 for openably closing an opening in the front face of a storage room 10; a pair of right and left support frames 12 for holding the storage container 15 that is secured to the inner surface of the door and that is pulled out as the door is opened; and rails 16 positioned on either side of the storage room for slidably supporting the support frames. The rear piece 19 of each support frame can be bent so that when the door is closed, each support frame is folded inward and enclosed in the storage room, and so that when the door is open, the support frames become continuous and linear in the forward direction and move forward along the rails.
