PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toothpaste composition causing little dripping of liquid from the mouth and having excellent plaque removing power. SOLUTION: The toothpaste composition contains (A) hydroxyethyl cellulose dimethyldiallylammonium salt, (B) sodium laurylsulfate, (C) a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether having a 12-18C alkyl group and an average ethylene oxide molar number of 3-8, (D) a polyoxyethylene hardened castor oil having an average ethylene oxide molar number of 10-30 and (E) silicic acid anhydride.
