<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material supply device for performing normal supply operation even when resetting a storage cassette, and to provide an image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: When a printing request signal for a first sheet 3 is input after a feed cassette 9 is reset, the switching operation of a feed roller 12 is executed and then the rotating drive of the feed roller 12 is executed following only a reference time t for feeding operation after a sheet thrusting plate 15 rises from a residence position to a supply position.
