PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable electronic equipment capable of realizing reliable reserved picture/sound recording functions, and to provide the recording control method of the portable electronic equipment. SOLUTION: When a timer 105 clocks time at which picture recording is acceptable or not, a CPU/control unit 101 acquires the determination signal from a tuner 111 and a demodulator 112 to determine the reception situation of a reserved program stored in a memory 103, and determines whether picture recording is acceptable or not. When it is determined that no pictures can be recorded, a user who has made reserved picture recording is notified of it, thus enabling the user to improve the reception state, for example until the start time of picture recording in an early time zone before the start time of the reserved picture recording, or to leave recording to another equipment.
