<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic motor that can remove dust inside its drive mechanism portion reliably with a simple mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic motor 40, which is applied, for example, as a drive source of a lens mirror cylinder 1, comprises a vibrator 41, a vibrator support portion, and a drive rail 16 that is driven by the vibrator 41. The vibrator 41 comprises a stacked piezoelectric element 42, a support shaft 43, a pair of driving elements 44 that are press contacted to the drive rail 16 to excite elliptical vibrations, a pair of projecting members 15, flexible boards for connection, and the like. The projecting members 15, which have a top recessed circular portion 15f that extends in the moving direction, are attached to both ends of the vibrator. In the driving state, the recessed circular portion 15f contacts the surface of the drive rail 16 and slide on it, so that abrasion powder on the drive rail 16 caused by the friction of the driving elements 44 is removed reliably by the recessed circular portion 15f. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
