<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering system for a vehicle capable of positively inhibiting a steering operation if an illegal access is made. <P>SOLUTION: This steering system for a vehicle is provided with a steering input device for inputting the amount of steering by a driver and a steering device for performing switching between the first state of steering a steered wheel in accordance with the amount of steering input in the steering input device and a second state of inhibiting steering of the steered wheel in accordance with the amount of steering input in the steering input device.
