PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pierce type oscillation circuit for establishing a secure oscillation operation and an oscillation in a high frequency band, and having higher frequency stability. SOLUTION: The pierce type oscillation circuit is provided with an inverting amplifier circuit, and a piezoelectric vibrator to be disposed between an output circuit and an input circuit of the inverting amplifier circuit. The inverting amplifier circuit is configured by: an emitter grounded type transistor Q<SB>1</SB>for inversely amplifying an input signal passing through a quartz resonator; and a base grounded type transistor Q<SB>2</SB>being made a cascode connection between a collector and an output circuit of this transistor, having low input impedance viewed from the collector of the transistor Q<SB>1</SB>, and also having high output impedance viewed from the output circuit.
