PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating agent for seaweed culture net with which seaweed culture net is coated with highly waterproof film, and which is usable in the following year after production: and to provide a coating method using the coating agent. SOLUTION: The coating agent comprises carbonyl group-containing PVA-based resin, or both of carbonyl group-containing PVA-based resin and a crosslinking agent.
