PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new bacterium effective for preventing and/or treating infection with a food poisoning bacterium, a fermentation product containing the same, a food and a medicine composition.

SOLUTION: Lactic acid bacterium Lactobacillus plantarum MCRI 164 strain is newly found. The fermentation product, especially the food and the medicine composition containing the Lactobacillus plantarum MCRI 164 strain effectively prevent and/or treat infection with a food poisoning bacterium.
