PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor whose height is reduced by improving storage efficiency in a compartment. SOLUTION: A rotor recessed part 111a is provided to a compression element 113 side of a rotor 111. A bearing part 135 is extended in the rotor recessed part 111a. An inverter-driven motor operated at multiple rotational speeds is taken as an electromotive element 110. A permanent magnet 151 is used for the rotor 111 to reduce the height of the compressor. An abutting surface of a leg of the compressor and the elastic member is positioned above the lower end surface of the supporting member, thereby reducing the overall height of the compressor.
