The antenna has a base including a conducting grip (12), which forms a part of a monopole antenna unit. A parallel plate line antenna unit (13) with two parallel circuit boards is fastened at the grip. The boards are separated by tubular spacers. The monopole field is excited by the grip and the antenna unit (13) and the parallel plate line mode is excited by the boards by feeding a signal radiated into a coupling unit. The distance of the spacers from a signal feed point is modified such that forward and return waves are superimposed at the feed point to produce high field strength. |
