[Also in Division B8] When a closed nozzle 11 is screwed further onto a container 4 a projection 7 on the nozzle ruptures the base 9 of the hollow plug of the vessel 4, to permit anti-biotic powder 8 from the plug to fall into a sterile liquid in the container. When the tip 10 of the nozzle 11 has been removed it may receive an injection needle (12). The liquid may be sterile water or physiological saline. The device may be packed in a heat-sealed bag, and several such devices may then be packed in cartons sterilised by gamma irradiation. |
