摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the performance of a slide bearing at a high level by preventing deformation of a bearing metal. SOLUTION: Half-split bearing metals 15 are assembled in a journal bore formed by a cylinder block and a bearing cap. A crank journal of a crankshaft is rotatably supported by the slide bearing 18 formed with the bearing metals 15 in a pair. A notch section 15d is formed on at least one of abutting surfaces 15a at both circumferential ends of the bearing metals 15, the notch section 15d being the deepest at the center of the abutting surface 15a in the widthwise direction. Thus, by forming the notch section 15d, the tightening force, that is, the closely contacting force of the bearing metals 15 can be varied in the widthwise direction corresponding to the cylinder block or the bearing cap, so that the inner peripheral surfaces of the bearing metals 15 can be kept flat.
