PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a well-known piecing device wherein working efficiency is lowered when manually performing the piecing work and wherein size is so large as a piecing device for a sawing machine that installation space is limited and it is expensive. SOLUTION: The piecing device 301 is provided with a nozzle 302 formed with an piecing hole 307, into which two yarns 20 and 21 overlapped in the same direction in yarn ends thereof are inserted, a mechanical valve 316 for opening/closing a compressed air flow passage formed from an air compressor 220 into the piecing hole 307, a clamp device for holding the two yarns 20 and 21, a cutter 369 for aligning tips of the two yarns 20 and 21, and an operating lever 319 for interlocking operation for switching the mechanical valve 316 to open/close with operation of the cutter 369.
