PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device of a crane capable of preventing breakage of a component such as a boom and a jib during the boom collapsing operation. SOLUTION: The safety device comprises a ground contact detection means to detect the ground contact of a tip of a jib 19, and a safety countermeasures taking means to take safety countermeasures for limiting the boom collapsing operation based on the result of detection of the ground contact detection means. The ground contact detection means has a detection body to be displaced according to the ground contact of the tip of the jib 19, and a detector to detect the displacement of the detector. The detection body and the detector are provided on a boom 17, and the detection body is displaced in an interlocking manner with a hanger pin of the jib.
