The method involves unblocking of the starter after an identification is successfully examined and the ignition key is operated. The unblocking condition (2) of the starter is checked and an unblocking signal (3) is produced if the unblocking condition is fulfilled. The starter is unblocked if the by-pass condition (5,6) is fulfilled.
