PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain effective avoidance of degraded usability with a simple structure in an on-vehicle apparatus and control method thereof which enables occupants in front and rear seats to enjoy different contents in front and rear spaces, especially by applying to a car audio system or the like which allows occupants to enjoy different contents in front and rear seats respectively. SOLUTION: When front and rear seat occupants enjoy different contents respectively, an operation panel and a remote commander receives provision of the contents in the front and rear seats respectively to switch a providing method of an audio signal to the rear seat, thus making it difficult to control sound volume of the audio signal provided to the rear seat unless a monitor fitted on the rear seat is used.
