PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing (gathering) system capable of providing or gathering information for a user through a route different from that for an information transmission medium.

SOLUTION: In an information providing (gathering) server device 10, information ID and provision information corresponding to it are stored, and by using an information transmission medium 12, the information ID is viewed by a user. The user accesses the information providing (gathering) server device 10 from a cellular phone 14 and transmits the information ID acquired from the information transmission medium 12 to acquire the provision information. A predetermined point is given to the user acquiring the provision information, and the point is managed by the information providing (gathering) server device 10.
