PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device capable of performing the drawing operation and the setting operation of a paper feed cassette without any large force. SOLUTION: When a paper feed cassette 4A is drawn out of a regular position in a paper feeding device body 4B, the paper feed cassette slides and at the same time an arm 33 is turned, a claw tip 40a of a wedge-shaped section at a tip of a separation claw 40 is inserted in an attraction part by the magnetic force between a tip of a bracket 31 of the paper feed cassette and a frame 37 of the paper feeding device body to separate these components. As a result, the attraction force applied therebetween is reduced, and the paper feed cassette can be drawn with a small force. When the paper feed cassette is pushed in, the paper feed cassette slides and at the same time, the arm is turned in the opposite direction to the direction in the drawing mode, the inserted separation claw is detached, the tip of the bracket 31 is attracted by the frame 37 by the magnetic force, and the paper feed cassette is set on the regular position.
