PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder capable of preventing diagonal conveyance of a sheet body, and realizing the constant conveyance interval of the sheet body. SOLUTION: The paper feeder 30 has a pickup roller 35, a paper feed roller 36, and a drive motor 40 or the like. The paper feed roller 36 includes a driving unit 44 connected to the drive motor 40, and a driven unit 45 to be pressed against a paper sheet which is an example of a sheet body. The driving unit 44 and the pickup roller 35 are interlocked with each other. The driving unit 44 and the driven unit 45 are arranged coaxially adjacent to each other. A groove 48 of the arc-shape concentric with the center of rotation of the paper feed roller 35 is formed in an end face of the driving unit 44 facing the driven unit 45, and a projection 49 which is fitted to a groove 48 and movable in the groove 48 is formed in an end face of the driven unit 45 facing the driving unit 44. The dimension L of the groove 48 in the rotational direction of the paper feed roller 35 is larger than the dimension M from a tip of the paper sheet P to a nip part 52 of the driven unit 45 when the pickup roller 35 is brought into pressed contact with the paper sheet P.
