PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus which is capable of receiving facsimile data even if the empty capacity of a memory is reduced. SOLUTION: When facsimile data are received (step s1-1) and it is determined in a step s2 that a printer unit is disabled in printing by the shortage of recording paper or the like, the received data are stored in a memory (step s4) and the used capacity of the memory is acquired (step s5). If it is determined in a step s6 that the used capacity is equal with or more than a predetermined capacity, data to be saved as electronic mail are selected out of the received data stored in the memory (step s7). If these data are FAX received data, they are converted into an electronic mail format, the electronic mail is transmitted to an electronic mail address assigned to a facsimile machine itself, and the transmitted data are deleted from the memory 2 (step s8).
