PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily form an acoustic matching layer in which the acoustic impedance continuously changes in the direction of thickness in an ultrasonic probe, and to widen the frequency band of the ultrasonic probe to obtain a diagnostic image with high resolution. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic probe has a piezoelectric element which transmits and receives ultrasonic waves. A plurality of kinds of powder materials are filled in high-molecular resin, and the acoustic matching layer 5, in which the acoustic impedance continuously changes in the direction of thickness inside the high-molecular resin, is formed on one face of the piezoelectric element 1.
