PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for crushing garbage, the noise or vibration of which is not propagated to the side of a sink as soon as possible when the apparatus for crushing garbage is operated/used. SOLUTION: A main body of this apparatus for crushing garbage is divided into two parts being an upper case and a lower case and the whole upper case is made from an elastic material. The upper end of the upper case is formed to have a cylindrical flange part to be fit to the outer periphery of the lower end of a drainpipe extended from a drain hole on the bottom surface of the sink. The cylindrical flange part is abutted on the outer periphery of the lower end of the drainpipe and a fastening band is fit freely detachably to the abutted part. The upper case is formed to have a downward convex joint surface and the lower case is formed to have an upward concave joint surface. The convex joint surface of the upper case is molded integrally with the bottom surface of the upper case of the elastic material. The upper case is joined to the lower case without interposing a gasket between the convex joint surface and the concave joint surface.
