PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire simulating method capable of accurately predicting the energy loss of a tire having a viscoelastic characteristic such as rubber. SOLUTION: The tire simulating method is to make simulation of the tire using a computer, including a model setting step S1 to set a tire model in which the tire is divided by a finite number of elements including the first elements with the viscoelastic characteristic defined, a step S2 to set a road surface model, a rolling step S3 to roll the tire model on the road surface model on the basis of the predetermined boundary conditions, and a calculating step S4 to calculate the energy loss of at least one of the first elements on the basis of the physical quantity obtained at the rolling step S3. The energy loss is calculated about the tire longitude direction of the first element, its tire circumferential direction, and tire thickness direction, the calculation being based on the history per turn of the tire model of the strains of six components including the vertical strain and shearing strain.
