PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated tool having remarkably excellent cutting durability characteristic compared with conventional ones by enhancing strength of crystal grain boundary in the coat containing zirconium and coat adhesion with the coat of an upper layer. SOLUTION: The coated tool has a single layer coat made of any one kind or multi-layer coat made of two or more kinds of groups of 4, 5 and 6 in the periodic table and the carbide, nitride, oxide, carbonitride, carbonoxide, nitrideoxide, and carbonitroxide of aluminum on a surface of the substrate, and at least one layer among the coats contains zirconium and titanium. The coat containing the zirconium and titanium is coated on the surface of the carbonitride coat of titanium, and the coat containing the zirconium and titanium contains crystal grains having twin crystal structures.
