<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid hinge device which connects a can body to a lid certainly and easily, allows anybody to attach or remove the lid easily and smoothly, facilitates wide opening of an opening portion, makes a hinge portion absorb load to reduce load on a fitting part between a connecting piece and the lid, is hardly damaged, enables easy, secure, and stable attachment of a fixing body, does not come off easily, allows a body side connection to slide smoothly and stably, has a fine appearane, is simply structured and easily assembled, and is suitable for mass production to provide an economic advantage. <P>SOLUTION: The lid hinge device comprises the synthetic resin connecting piece 1, the fixing body 5 which fits the body side connection 1a of the connecting piece 1 to the can body A slidably, and a fixing means which fits a lid side connection 1b of the connecting piece 1 to the lid B. The fixing body 5 is composed of a base board 6, and guide projections 7 which are slidable in a guide hole 2 of the body side connection 1a and are inserted into insertion holes 10 of the can body A.
