Bowling pins comprise a preformed body encased in a protective plastic cladding comprising a resinous layer of from 0.02-0.2 ins. thickness said resin being a caprolactam polymer or copolymer. Suitable copolymers are those of caprolactam and an ester of an a ,b -unsaturated aliphatic acid, e.g. acrylic acid. The ester is suitably an alkyl or substituted alkyl, e.g. aminoalkyl, or hydroxyalkyl ester. The body may be of plastic foam or metal but is preferably of wood, e.g. maple. The casing is preferably cast- or injection-moulded onto the core.
