A self-lubricating sheave block comprises a reservoir 25 in sheave 11, a passage 36, 35 extending from the reservoir through a hub 22 of the sheave to bearing means, a sleeve 45 surrounding a member 30 and comprising or engaging the bearing means, and seals 43, 44 preventing loss of lubricant. In Fig. 1 a sheave 11 is supported by tapered roller bearings 33, 34 on a sleeve 45 surrounding a pin 30 which is fixed to frame 10 by nuts 31, a screw 32 allowing transverse adjustment of the pin. The reservoir is filled through an opening in boss 27, and circumferentially spaced openings 36 are in line with passage 35 leading to the interior of the roller bearings. Members 40, 41 locate seals 43, 44. The sleeve 45 serves to space plates 12, 13. In Fig. 2 (not shown), a plain bearing is formed by hub (62) and a sleeve (69) on pin 70.</p> |
