The invention provides a cosmetic composition, particularly a cosmetic composition for antiperspiration. The invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising surface-hydrophobated water-absorbing polymer particles and an anti-perspiring component, as well as a cosmetic composition comprising water-absorbing polymer particles, an anti-perspiring component, and at least one member selected from the group consisting of silicone having a viscosity (25° C.) of not higher than 5x10<SUP>-3 </SUP>m<SUP>2</SUP>/s and hydrophobic particles, wherein the content of the water-absorbing polymer particles is 3 to 95 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the anti-perspiring component.
