PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce no burrs on a metal layer of a contact member for a push button switch. SOLUTION: In a stamping device 11, a penetrating hole 17 is formed through a die 12 and a punch 13 is vertically movable so as to stamp a sheet 18 placed on the die 12 into the penetrating hole 17. A pressing member 14 has a penetrating hole 19 formed to allow the punch 13 to be vertically movable. A knock-out pin 16 is supported by a compression spring 23 from below. The sheet 18 is placed on the die 12 such that the metal layer 27 is in contact with the die 12. Then, while the sheet 18 is pressed by the pressing member 14 from above, the punch 13 is pushed down to stamp the sheet 18. It is thereby possible to provide the contact member 29 for a push button switch in which the edge portion is formed into the round shape and the metal layer 27 is free from burrs.
