PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a fuel cell which includes an electron conductor having a large specific surface area and in which a high output can be obtained. SOLUTION: The electrode for the fuel cell comprises an electron conductor which uses as a substrate at least a carbon fiber having fiber diameter in the range of 50-200 nm and an aspect ratio in the range of 10-200, and which has a specific surface area of 50-1,000 m2/g.
