<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce frictional resistance between a driven element and an ultrasonic vibrator while ensuring multi-degree-of-freedom. <P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic actuator 100 comprises an ultrasonic vibrator 2 arranged along a periphery on a driven element 1 made of super-steel. A vibrator holder 3 is fixed to the ultrasonic vibrator 2 arranged on a periphery of the driven element 1 and predetermined positioning of the ultrasonic vibrator 2 is carried out mechanically. Furthermore, an assembly of the driven element 1, the ultrasonic vibrator 2 and the vibrator holder 3 is built in a base holder 4. A holding section 5 is arranged above or below the base holder 4 so that the vibrator holder 3 built in the base holder 4 is regulated at a predetermined position in the longitudinal and lateral directions.
