PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the ovipositor of insects from piercing the optical fiber inside a jacket, and to maintain equivalent workability, as before, in stripping of an optical fiber. SOLUTION: In an optical fiber drop cable 1, a long optical element part 9 is formed with an optical fiber 3 composed of an optical fiber or coated optical fibers, at least a pair of tension members 5 arranged in parallel across the optical fiber 3, and a jacket 7 covering the outer circumference of the optical fiber 3 and the pair of tension members 5, wherein a long cable support wire part 29 formed by covering the outer circumference of a support wire 25 with the jacket 7 is integrated with the optical element part 9. In parallel with and longitudinal to the optical fiber 3, there are formed gaps 33, 35 which are designed to tear the jacket 7 and shaped projecting from the optical fiber 3 side toward the surface of the jacket 7, in a direction vertical to a plane 31 through the center of the optical fiber 3 and the pair of tension members 5, and in the directions directly above and below the optical fiber 3 inside the jacket 7.
