PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably start and operate a motor, even if solar voltage fluctuates. SOLUTION: In this motor control device, a solar battery 5 for converting sunlight into electric energy is used as a power source, and a control means 43 for controlling the operation of the motor 8 to which power is supplied by the solar battery 5 is provided. The control means 43 has a storing means 436 for storing a first control characteristic value for setting controlled variable when starting the motor 8 and a second control characteristic value for setting controlled variable after starting the motor 8 based on an output value of the solar battery 5. The control means 43 controls the operations of the motor 8 when starting the motor 8 and after starting the motor 8 by using an output of the solar battery 5 and the first and second control characteristic values stored in the storing means 436.
