1,059,612. Control of D.C. motors. MICROMEGA S.A. Feb. 8, 1965 [March 9, 1964], No. 5309/65. Heading H2J. A D.C. motor 14 is supplied from a source 1 by way of a regulator 16 and a resistor 8 which is connected in one arm of a Wheatstone bridge also connected to the source 1. The bridge is constituted by the resistor 8, a Zener diode 6 and adjustable resistors 9, 10 and is arranged to be balanced when the motor is running under given conditions, e.g. at no-load; when a load is applied to the motor, the bridge becomes unbalanced and the resulting signal is applied over an amplifier 11 to the regulator 16 which increases the voltage applied to the motor so that the motor speed is maintained constant despite the increased load. A detector 17 operates at a certain value of motor current, e.g. load current, to permit energization of a circuit including electromagnetic valves 24, 25, 26 which control accessories such as cooling devices and spraying devices associated with the motor. The amplifier 11, the regulator 16 and the detector 17 may include transistors, suitable circuit arrangements being described with reference to Fig. 2 (not shown). |
