<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument and a method for highly accurately measuring belt slippage, on the basis of error factors, but without being affected by the error factors, and to provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming an image of high quality by loading the belt slip measuring instrument, adjusting the belt driving speed, based on the information on the belt slip amount caused by external factors and reducing the image deterioration caused by the belt slippage. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding the belt slip measuring instrument for measuring slippage, occurring between the belt 7 which is driven by two or more driving/driven rollers 8 and the rollers 8, magnetic patterns 9a and 9b are formed on the belt 7 and the rollers 8, and the apparatus is provided with a magnetic head unit 10 for detecting the magnetic patterns 9a and 9b formed on the rollers 8 and the belt 7 in a drive state, and the slip amount of the belt 7 is calculated by a PC 11 from the magnetic patterns obtained by the magnetic head unit 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
