BASE FABRIC FOR AIR BAG AND AIR BAG APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base fabric for an air bag destaticizing static electricity and to provide an air bag apparatus.

SOLUTION: A front panel 1 and a rear panel 2 as the base fabric for the air bag used in the automotive air bag apparatus are provided with a static electricity destaticizing earth circuit formed with an electroconductive suture thread 3 having electroconductivity. The electroconductive suture thread 3 comprises fibers obtained by incorporating a microparticulate carbonized material or a fibrous carbonized material into the core and carrying out spinning in a yarn manufacturing stage. Thereby, the maximum friction-charged electrostatic potential measured by a method for measuring the friction-charged electrostatic potential specified by JIS L 1094 can be regulated to <100 V.
