PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a phenomenon in which a sound or a video image is repeatedly outputted in a few seconds in switching broadcast from analog TV broadcast to digital TV broadcast. SOLUTION: A television broadcast receiver receives the digital television broadcast of a simultaneous system and the analog television broadcast thereof to capture them. Only when the reception strength of the digital television broadcast is lower than a predetermined value, the receiver switches output to an external apparatus from the digital television broadcast to the analog television broadcast. In this receiver, the digital television broadcast to be outputted is muted for a predetermined time when the analog television broadcast is switched to the digital television broadcast.
