摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve arrangement accuracy of a deflector in a rotary direction to a phosphor screen by preventing shielding of an electron beam passing through a lightening hole and making a fluorescent screen emit light without substantially promoting generation of local doming in a color selection electrode. SOLUTION: This cathode ray tube comprises an envelope, a phosphor screen, a plurality of fluorescent screens, an electron gun, a deflector, a color selection electrode 14 comprising an effective area 14A having a plurality of openings and an ineffective area 14B having a plurality of the lightening holes 64, a frame 24 holding the color selection electrode 14, an internal magnetic shield 5 and an electron shield 7 having a pair of long side parts 34 and a pair of short side parts 44. Each of the pair of short side parts 44 of the electron shield 7 is projected inward as approaching the central part of in a direction of the short side, and has a notch 47 at an end part inside of the central part.
