PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To scan a plurality of light beams simultaneously and in parallel, without using an expensive optical component and to obtain superior optical characteristics in a common scanning region of the plurality of light beams, without enlarging an apparatus. SOLUTION: The optical apparatus 1 is provided with the plurality of light sources 20a and 20b, a deflector 10 and a shaping and focusing means. A refracting optical element 12, which deflects the respective optical paths of the plurality of light beams is disposed in the optical paths between the plurality of light sources 20a and 20b and the deflector 10, the plurality of light beams emitted from the plurality of light sources 20a and 20b, respectively, are made incident on the refracting optical element 12 at an aperture angleγfrom each other, respectively refracting by the refracting action of the refracting optical element 12, and irradiated on the deflecting face 10a of the deflector 10 at a diverging angleαwhich is smaller than the aperture angleγof the light beams made incident on the refracting optical element 12.
