<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polymer type fuel battery which employs an oxidation inhibitor that improves the durability of an electrolytic film and a catalytic layer. <P>SOLUTION: According to the solid polymer type fuel battery, a compound exerting an oxidation/reduction cycle function reversibly as a hydrogen acceptor or hydrogen donor is fixed in the catalytic layer. The compound becomes the hydrogen acceptor at a potential lower than an oxidation/reduction potential for a hydroxy radical, and becomes the hydrogen donor at a potential higher than an oxidation/reduction potential for a hydrogen peroxide to become a hydrogen donor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
