<p>The coupler has a cylinder and a piston that axially moves in the cylinder. A coupler gap is provided between the cylinder and the piston. A compensation area (29) filled with liquid is connected with the gap by a connection channel (33). A pressure retaining unit (36) is provided in the area or in the channel.
