ENGINE STARTER OF VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine starter of a vehicle capable of bringing an automatic transmission into a neutral condition to suppress influence of reverse driving securely while improving fuel economy by stopping an engine automatically during running of the vehicle and switching into a drive condition speedily when restarting the engine automatically in accordance with demand of reacceleration. SOLUTION: An ECU switches from the drive condition to the neutral condition during running and stops the engine automatically. The ECU shifts a gear stage G101 onto a low speed side sequentially in accordance with vehicle speed V101 after stopping the engine when decelerating slowly. The ECU puts a friction element into a precharged condition while putting a gear stage G102 into a neutral condition after stopping the engine when decelerating abruptly. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
