<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron emission element having an electron emitting part formed in good precision, a manufacturing method of the electron emission element, an electro-optical device having the electron emission element, and electronic equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The electron emission element 10 comprises an insulating structure 20 having an edge part 22, a conductive membrane 12 formed on the insulation structure 20, and a first element electrode 14 and a second element electrode 15 electrically connected to the conductive membrane 12. The conductive membrane 12 is bent at the edge part 22. Since a portion locally bent like this forms kind of structurally a singular point, an intentional defect formation can be applied by polishing and switching-on forming. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
