PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve signal processing efficiency of a CPU and function blocks without expanding circuit scale and decelerating a processing speed. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: a solid-state imaging element 11 for detecting a signal charge accumulated in a photo-diode and outputting an imaging signal; an A/D converter 13 for converting the obtained imaging signal into digital imaging data; a storage unit 14 for imaging for storing A/D converted imaging data; an order conversion unit 15 for converting the order of imaging data stored in the storage unit 14 for imaging into other order; a CPU 21 for controlling a camera system; a dedicated storage unit 22 that the CPU 21 uses for signal processing for work; a storage unit selection unit 23 for selecting whether the CPU 21 is to use the dedicated storage unit 22 or the storage unit 14 for imaging for the work; and an input selection unit 30 for selecting either imaging data from the A/D converter 13 or information from the storage unit selection unit 23 as information to be stored in the storage unit 14 for imaging.
