<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording power setting method by which recording power relative to an optical disk is optimally set in a CAV system, where the shape of a recording mark is uniform with less deterioration, and to provide an optical disk device. <P>SOLUTION: The recording surface of the optical disk 1 is divided into a plurality of zones 3a-3d so as to allow the ratio k of the outer diameter to inner diameter of each zone to be substantially a fixed value in the radius direction. The optimum recording power is set by each divided zone, or the optimum recording waveform of a recording pulse is set at every divided zone. When the recording position of a signal to be recorded is changed over from a certain zone to a different zone, the recording operation of the signal is temporarily interrupted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
