PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prepreg which is good in tackiness and less changing in tackiness with the lapse of time, and can provide a fiber reinforced composite material with excellent compression interlaminar shear strength (CILS) at a high temperature after moisture absorption while maintaining good impact resistance and compressive strength (LCS) of a cross laminated panel. SOLUTION: The prepreg is produced by impregnating a carbon fiber satisfying a requirement [A] with a resin satisfying a requirement [B]. In the prepreg, particles satisfying a requirement [C] exist in an amount of 20 percent by weight or less and are distributed at a higher concentration in the surface zone than in the inside. [A]: a carbon fiber comprising a plurality of continuous carbon filaments and having a hook drop value of 10 cm or more. [B]: a base resin mainly composed of a thermosetting resin.
