1,123,159. Making valves. DANFOSS A.S. 10 Feb., 1967 [1 March, 1966], No. 6533/67. Heading B3A. [Also in Division F2] A double-seated valve having first and second closure members 9, 12 and a valve stem 8 is made by urging the first member 9 against its seat 2 with a predetermined force, attaching a second seat 3 to the housing 1, urging the second member 12 against its seat with the same force and connecting the second member to the stem or the first member. The first member 9 is urged against its seat by a spring 15 whose tension is adjusted to the correct amount by a screwed abutment 16. The second valve seat is fixed in the housing by flanging 5 and the second closure member 12 slid on the extension 11 of the first member. The second member is urged against its seat (by a device not illustrated) with the same force as the first member was urged against its seat. The second member 12 is soldered or brazed to the extension 11 while the pressure is maintained. In a modification, the second member could be secured to the stem 8 and the soldering 13 may be above the second member.
|
