An apparatus for processing texts in a digital broadcast receiver and method thereof are disclosed. The present invention includes a text extracting unit extracting the texts from contents of data inputted to the digital broadcast receiver and a text processing unit processing the extracted texts. Accordingly, a user can efficiently acquire the information, a user can acquire accurate and summarized information from a digital broadcast video, a storage device can be efficiently used, a computer or other mobile terminals can use the contents of a broadcast program, and a load of hardware can be reduced. |
